Thiruvallikeni

Lokasaranga Muni was the chief priest of the Srirangam temple at that time. When he came to the river to fetch water for the abhisekam of the Lord, he saw Paanan standing on the banks and singing. Muni irritatedly asked him to go aside.
When Muni returned to the Srirangam temple to do Abhisekam, the door got locked from inside. Namperumal (Ranganatha) said from inside that since Muni had disrespected his devotee Panaa, he will not accept Muni’s pooja.

Shocked by this, Muni went to Paana and fell on his feet and asked him to come to Srirangam. But Paana refused saying that his feet should not touch Srirangam, since he was a low caste. Immediately Lokasaranga Muni carried Paana on his shoulders and took him to Srirangam.
