Thirupper Nagar (Koviladi Appakkudathaan) prakaram

The moolavar is Appakkudathaan in a sayana thirukkolam holding an appakkudam in one hand. Markandeya maharishi is also found taking the blessings of lord inside the Sanctum. The Thayar is Indra Devi and also known as Kamalavalli. The theertham is Indra theertham and also known as Mruthyu vinasini theertham. Pandya King Uparisaravasar, worshipped the lord at this kshetram to get rid of his Brahmahatthi dosham and offered appam. Appam is offered to the lord every night in this temple.
