Arimeya Vinnagaram - Lord Vishnu here is Kudamaadukoothan
Lord Krishna performed Kuda Aadu kooththu to show his Aadimoola Narayana Thatvam, the reason behind the birth of everything in this Universe.
Sthala Puranam - Uthanga Maharishi got married to Prabha. When they were taking holy bath in river Ganges, a crocodile took Prabha away. Uthanga Maharishi was in sorrow and kept roaming till he reached Arimeya Vinnagaram. Here Lord Kudamaadukoothan gave darshan to him and explained that his wife had attained Mukthi and made him shed his sorrow.
Kudamaadu koothan here is in Iruntha kolam and the idol is made of burnt clay and hence no thirumanjanam and only thailakkaappu.
